The 12-inch wok is pressed from a single sheet of blue carbon steel — an alloy that is lighter than cast iron, more responsive to heat changes, and develops a natural non-stick seasoning through polymerized oil. The flat bottom is engineered for Western stovetops, solving the stability problem that undermines round-bottomed woks on gas and electric ranges.

At 2mm thickness, it is substantial enough to retain heat for a proper sear without the wrist-punishing weight of cast iron. Made In provides a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects and sells directly to consumers, cutting retail markup.

The pan seasons quickly — most owners report a functional non-stick surface within two to three uses. At approximately $89, it undercuts comparable French carbon steel woks while maintaining the same material pedigree.

Carbon steel is the original BIFL cookware material, and this wok is a clean modern execution of it.
