The Chair One leverages that expertise by building a camp chair around anodized DAC TH72M aluminum alloy poles — the same material used in expedition-grade tent frames. The result is a chair that supports 320 pounds, packs to 14 x 4 x 5 inches, weighs just 2 pounds 2 ounces, and assembles in under a minute through shock-corded pole segments.
The 600-denier polyester seat fabric is replaceable, and Helinox sells individual pole segments, rubber feet, and seat skins for all their models. At roughly $110, the Chair One is more expensive than big-box camping chairs, but it weighs a quarter as much, packs a tenth the size, and lasts five to ten times longer.
The aluminum frame does not fatigue under repeated load cycles the way steel tube chairs do, and the anodized finish resists corrosion from rain, salt air, and UV exposure. Helinox offers a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects, and their parts program means a torn seat or lost rubber foot is a $20 fix, not a trip to the store for a new chair.
