The symmetrical two-door, two-vestibule design provides equal access for both occupants — a seemingly obvious feature that many competing tents still lack. The Xtreme Shield waterproof coating on the fly and floor uses a durability rating that MSR guarantees for the life of the tent, eliminating the delamination failures common in cheaper tents after three to four seasons.

The DAC Featherlite NSL aluminum poles are press-fit and anodized, providing the strength-to-weight ratio that keeps the tent at 3 pounds 8 ounces packed while handling wind loads that collapse lesser poles. MSR sells every component individually: fly, poles, tent body, stakes, guylines, and pole repair sleeves.

The company operates a full repair service that patches floors, replaces zippers, and reseals seams. At approximately $350, the Hubba Hubba costs twice what a big-box store tent does, but those tents develop leaking seams and broken poles within two seasons.

Over an 8 to 10 year lifespan of regular backcountry use, the MSR works out to roughly $40 per year. The tent's warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for the original owner's lifetime of the product.
